New: giil, pull full-resolution images from iCloud, Dropbox, Google Photos, and Google Drive share links
Take a screenshot on your iPhone, share it to iCloud, paste the share link into your SSH session, and giil downloads the full-resolution file for an AI to read. It connects phone screenshots to remote AI coding sessions.
- Four providers from one CLI: iCloud, Dropbox, Google Photos, and Google Drive share links. Dropbox takes a direct curl fast path with no browser
- Default behavior is AI-friendly: file path on stdout so IMAGE_PATH=$(giil URL) captures cleanly into a shell variable
- The --json mode returns structured metadata (path, dimensions, byte size) for callers that need more than a path
- The --all flag handles albums: download every image at full resolution into a single output directory
- First-run footprint: ~200MB Playwright Chromium cached in ~/.cache/giil/. Subsequent runs are fast
The motivating workflow: iPhone screenshot → iCloud sync → Photos.app share link → paste into SSH → giil downloads → agent analyzes. There are no accounts or API keys involved, and no per-image friction. First run downloads Playwright Chromium (~200MB cached in ~/.cache/giil/) because iCloud, Google Photos, and Google Drive links need a real browser to unwrap. Dropbox links skip the browser and download directly with curl in a second or two.
