New: gh CLI, GitHub from the command line
Daily gh workflows: PR create / review / checkout, issue triage, repo cloning, releases, action runs. The skill is a reference for the commands you reach for, with the flag combinations that solve common problems rather than a list of every option.
- PR workflow: gh pr create --fill to use the commit message, gh pr view 45 --web to open in a browser, gh pr checkout 45 to test someone else's PR locally without remote-fiddling
- Issue triage: gh issue list --label "bug" to scope, gh issue view 123 to read it, gh issue close 123 --comment "Fixed in #456" to close with an audit trail
- Releases: gh release create v1.0.0 --generate-notes for auto-written notes, then gh release upload v1.0.0 ./dist/app.zip ./dist/app.tar.gz to attach artifacts
- Action runs: gh run list --limit 20 for recent runs, gh run watch to tail a running workflow, gh run rerun --failed to re-run only the failed jobs
- Auth checks: gh auth status on a fresh machine, gh auth refresh when a token needs new scopes
