Admin Page for Next.js: data integrity patterns from production failures
New ADMIN-DATA-INTEGRITY.md reference with 23 sections covering KPI hydration, provider degradation, caching concurrency, and the dozen ways admin dashboards silently show wrong numbers.
- New reference: ADMIN-DATA-INTEGRITY.md (23 sections) on KPI hydration, unknown-vs-zero, caching concurrency
- 6 new hard invariants: canonical MRR, test exclusion, DB-backed KPIs, per-provider degradation
- 12 new failure modes with mitigations, from false-zero cards to geographic rounding drift
- 13-item data integrity checklist plus 5 new red flags for admin code review
- Covers SLA alerting, E2E port isolation, migration gating, validator-DB constraint parity
Production admin dashboards showed three different MRR figures on three different pages. KPI cards displayed zero revenue because they relied on SSE events that were never published. Provider API failures crashed entire stats endpoints instead of degrading per-provider. Test accounts inflated every metric.
New: Admin Pages for Next.js, build cohesive SaaS admin cockpits
Design patterns for building one cohesive admin cockpit instead of a pile of dashboards. Covers unified information architecture, permissions, audit trails, analytics, moderation, billing, and user management for Next.js App Router SaaS apps.
- One IA across /admin: Overview, Users, Billing, Support, Moderation, Content, Analytics, Experiments, Operations, Compliance, Health, with no parallel sections
- Permission registry of domain-action keys (users.read, billing.adjust, ops.retry) mapped to roles and enforced at page and API boundaries, plus one audit pipeline recording actor, action, target, reason, and before/after for privileged mutations
- Operator workflows first: queues and state transitions, job status with retries and last error, provider health, and freshness timestamps rather than chart-only pages
- Shared primitives: admin shell, filters and date ranges, cards and toolbars, table components, central TanStack Query keys, and one validated mutation contract
